Module over two half days, in full accordance with the recommendations of the academic staff, particularly for professional Masters students. Module over one half day also available.
New in 2004/2005: Mini-workshops over a two hour period, accompanied by 4/5 other students and their laptops, or in a computer room in your study environment.
You will be given a brochure at every workshop.
You will learn about the umpteen ways to write your CV, how to personalise it, make it attractive, emphasise certain elements, reveal your strengths and express your objectives.
In a professionalised rather than administrative environment, you will learn to sell yourself to potential employers.
Looking at your CV and letters of application, you will learn how to present strategically the knowledge and know-how that you have acquired and to show what you are capable of in the future.
You will learn how to read job offers and will use your skills to devise offers from the point of view of the employer and respond to them as the ideal candidate.
In preparation for interviews, you will target the correct behaviour and consider what may trouble you personally, the different types of possible interviews and delicate questions that may be asked.
Job-seeking is work in itself – ‘a battleground’ – and you will be much better off if well prepared for it as such.
The services offered by the department of Traineeships and Job Offers ensure regular, progressive practice right through your years of study.
